"On the occasion of World Environment Day, and under the supervision of the Research, Consulting, and Training Center at the University of Sabratha, in collaboration with the Faculty of Engineering Sabratha (represented by the Department of Environmental and Natural Resources Engineering), the Faculty of Science Sabratha (represented by the Departments of Environmental Science and Botany), and the Faculty of Arts and Education Sabratha (represented by the Department of Geography, Environmental Studies Division), the Faculty of Arts and Education Sabratha hosted the World Environment Day events today, Wednesday, June 5, under the theme ‘Towards a Greener Future.’

The event was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Education Sabratha, the Dean of the Faculty of Science Sabratha, several representatives from public agencies, associations, and concerned institutions, as well as university faculty members, staff, students, and a group of specialists and environmental enthusiasts.

Following the opening ceremony, a series of speeches highlighted the importance of environmental conservation and explained the dangers of pollution and its negative effects on individual health and the environment.

The general program included several segments, including the presentation of scientific papers on environmental topics with the following titles:
- Study of Desertification Phenomena in the South-East of Al-Aziziyah
- Current Trends in Climate Change and Its Impact on the Environment
- Leakage of Petroleum Products from Some Fuel Stations and Its Impact on Groundwater Quality
- Reuse of Sewage Water and Its Impact on Combating Desertification

The program also featured student contributions, including visual presentations that highlighted the risks of environmental pollution and its negative effects on the present and future.

Additionally, the event included a supporting exhibition showcasing environmental products and innovations that contribute to environmental preservation and the reuse of waste materials through recycling, as well as art displays featuring paintings reflecting the occasion."
