The International Cooperation Office at the University of Sabratha, in collaboration with the Engineering Professions Syndicate in Sabratha, organized a workshop on Sunday, January 5, 2025, titled "The Highway from Musaid to Ras Ajdir: The Gateway to Future Transit Trade and Safe Transportation," presented by the Musaid-Ras Ajdir Road Implementation and Management Authority.
The workshop, held in the auditorium of the Faculty of Engineering in Sabratha, was attended by the university president, the head of the Musaid-Ras Ajdir Road Implementation and Management Authority along with his technical delegation, several deans and representatives from municipalities in the western region, a number of engineers and representatives from engineering companies, specialized professors, targeted students, and various stakeholders and interested parties.
The workshop aimed to introduce this national project and its strategic objectives, answer questions from stakeholders and interested parties, and enhance and develop the knowledge of civil engineering and architecture students at the Faculty of Engineering in Sabratha and Ragdalin, both technically and academically, by reviewing the project's designs, objectives, and its contribution to increasing national income.
Following the conclusion of the workshop sessions and the discussion round addressing questions related to the project from various aspects, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the University of Sabratha and the Musaid-Ras Ajdir Road Implementation and Management Authority, by the university president, Prof. Salem Al-Harishi, and the head of the authority, Dr. Ali Faisal Al-Aqab. This memorandum includes several clauses, including those related to the practical training of students, utilizing the faculties' laboratories for conducting tests related to the implementation, as well as organizing training courses for workers on the road project at the University of Sabratha, along with several other points aimed at achieving common goals and serving the public interest.
