Today, Tuesday, at the meeting hall of the National Center for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Educational and Training Institutions, the submission of documents from the Faculty of Engineering, Sabratha, for institutional accreditation renewal, and the Faculty of Nursing, Surman, for obtaining institutional accreditation took place.

The submission team included:

  • Mr. Bashir Al-Dabbousi, Director of the Quality Office at Sabratha University
  • Dr. Al-Siddiq Masoud Al-Dabbashi, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering
  • Prof. Dr. Omar Al-Qaidi, Head of the Quality Department at the Faculty of Engineering
  • Ms. Aisha Al-Bashir Al-Taif, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing
  • Dr. Nahla Faraj Al-Khatari, Head of the Quality Department at the Faculty of Nursing

The meeting was chaired by Dr. Abdullah Abdul Jalil, Director General of the Center, with the presence of Dr. Abdulmajid Shaaban, Director of the Accreditation Department at the Center, and Dr. Salem Al-Fird, Director of the Quality Assurance Department.

In his speech, the Director General of the Center welcomed the attendees from Sabratha University and praised their efforts to achieve institutional accreditation for all the university's faculties. He commended the Faculty of Engineering, recognizing it as a pioneer in quality work, having received institutional accreditation as the first engineering faculty in Libya, as well as program accreditation. He also lauded the Faculty of Nursing for its significant effort in preparing the accreditation documents and highlighted its importance in the labor market, encouraging the faculty to prepare for the center's audit.

The Director of the Accreditation Department also praised the Faculty of Engineering, noting that it has been a leader in quality since hosting the first workshop for the center in 2008 and achieving both institutional and program accreditation. He expressed his gratitude to the Faculty of Nursing, which became the second nursing faculty in the country to submit accreditation documents.

The Director of the Quality Assurance Department at the center emphasized the need to maintain quality standards by implementing improvement plans and the center's recommendations after submission.

In his speech, the Director of the University Quality Office thanked the center for its warm reception and praised the significant role the center plays in enhancing the educational process in Libyan universities. He confirmed that most of the university's faculties are working on completing their institutional accreditation documents.

The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering commended the center for promoting a culture of quality among higher education institutions to evaluate and improve the educational process. The Dean of the Faculty of Nursing also praised the collective effort by the faculty, under the university's supervision, in preparing the documents.

In conclusion, the documents were handed over to the Accreditation Department, wishing both faculties and all the university's faculties success in obtaining institutional and program accreditation.
