On the occasion of National Information Technology Day, observed annually on June 1st, the Faculty of Science in Sabratha—represented by the Computer Science Department—organized a celebratory event in collaboration with the Higher Institute of Science and Technology in Sabratha and the Sabratha Education Office, represented by Ya’rub Private School. A number of private technology companies specializing in ICT also participated in the event.
The day’s activities included a series of presentations that emphasized the importance of technology and its growing role in our daily lives. Visual presentations were also delivered, highlighting the impact of cybersecurity and artificial intelligence.
One of the standout activities was a theatrical performance by students from Ya’rub School, demonstrating the working mechanism of a computer. In addition, a tech exhibition was held to showcase and promote IT-related projects and innovations, with strong participation from tech companies, specialized students, and enthusiasts in the field of information technology.
The event was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Science, the Dean of the Higher Institute of Science and Technology, the Director of the Activities Department at the Sabratha Education Office, along with several department heads, faculty members, staff, students, and numerous stakeholders and enthusiasts in the field of ICT.
