The President of Sabratha University, Prof. Dr. Salem Al-Hurishi, met in his office today, Tuesday, with Dr. Atiya Al-Arbash, Director of the Department of Postgraduate Studies at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, accompanied by Dr. Osama Omar. The meeting was attended by the University Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Director of the Department of Postgraduate Studies, Training and Teaching Assistants, the heads of offices affiliated with the Postgraduate Studies Department, the Director of the International Cooperation Office, as well as the heads of postgraduate offices in the faculties that offer postgraduate programs.
The meeting reviewed the progress of postgraduate programs at Sabratha University and discussed the university’s plan for postgraduate studies across various scientific disciplines, in addition to addressing some challenges and obstacles facing the programs. The participants also discussed the feedback provided by the Ministry’s Postgraduate Studies Department regarding proposals submitted by some academic departments seeking to open new postgraduate programs.
During the meeting, Dr. Atiya Al-Arbash praised the efforts of Sabratha University, particularly in the field of postgraduate studies, highlighting its effective use of agreements signed with local and international universities, especially the implementation of provisions related to postgraduate studies, such as student exchange and joint supervision.
For his part, Prof. Dr. Salem Al-Hurishi, President of the University, stressed the importance of closely following up on all matters related to the implementation of postgraduate programs, particularly by the concerned departments at the Ministry, to ensure the quality and success of postgraduate studies across the institutions of the Ministry of Higher Education.
