As part of its openness to the surrounding environment and its role in providing services and utilizing its consulting and medical capabilities for the community, and on the occasion of World Diabetes Day, the Ibn Sina Hall at the Faculty of Human Medicine in Sabratha hosted a scientific awareness event about diabetes this morning, Wednesday. 

The event, overseen by the Community Service and Environment Unit of the faculty, included several segments, such as scientific presentations and visual displays aimed at increasing community awareness of incorrect practices for the prevention and control of diabetes, encouraging the adoption of healthy behaviors in dealing with the disease, as well as introducing the health problems associated with diabetes and their effects on individual and community health. 
The day's activities also included free screenings for attendees and participants, which included (measuring blood sugar levels, blood pressure, and body mass index). 
The World Diabetes Day event was attended by the university president, the dean of the Faculty of Human Medicine, the dean of the Faculty of Engineering in Sabratha, the dean of the Faculty of Economics in Sorman, the director of the Research and Consulting Center at the university, the director of the Nursing Institute at Sabratha Teaching Hospital, the president of the General Union of Students at Sabratha University, as well as several directors of departments and offices at the university, along with faculty members, staff, and a number of students from the college, as well as a group of interested and specialized individuals in this field.
