In response to national and humanitarian motives to enhance cooperation between institutions or individuals who can play a direct role in supporting those affected by disasters and painful events, and in collaboration with the Development Recovery Organization, Derna University, Sabratha University, Wadi al-Shati University, and Omar al-Mukhtar University, along with some educational monitoring bodies, and with the participation of several specialists and academics interested in the topic of psychological and social support from inside and outside Libya, a scientific seminar was held today, Thursday, December 21, under the title (Psychological and Social Support for Victims of Natural and Human Disasters - Hurricane Daniel as a Model). The events were organized through the Zoom application and were hosted in the viewing hall of the Faculty of Arts and Education in Sabratha, with the university's participation in this seminar.
The seminar included several key axes, the most important of which were:
#Axis_One: The Reality of Psychological and Social Services in Educational Institutions
#Axis_Two: The Specificity of Psychological and Social Support for Special Categories
#Axis_Three: Means of Psychological Support for Kindergartens
#Axis_Four: Strategies of Relevant Ministries for Psychological and Social Support during Disasters
The mentioned axes included lectures presented by several specialists, and Sabratha University’s participation in this seminar included the following:
1- A lecture titled (Psychological and Social Services in Libyan Universities) presented by Professor Dr. Al-Mahdi Muhammad Al-Jadidi
2- A lecture titled (Previous Experiences in Psychological Support for Children in Natural Disasters) presented by Professor Ibtisam Salem Al-Mazoughi
3- A lecture titled (Challenges Facing the Provision of Psychological and Social Support Services in Educational Institutions) presented by Dr. Salah Al-Din Muhammad Al-Shibani.
4- A lecture titled (The Psychological and Economic Harm to People with Disabilities After Disasters and Crises) was presented by Dr. Najat Al-Taher Al-Farjani.
The external contributions that enriched the seminar included lectures from specialized participants from Egyptian and Iraqi universities.
The event was attended by the Deputy for Scientific Affairs at the university, who delivered a speech on behalf of the University of Sabratha at this scientific event, as well as several deans of faculties at the University of Sabratha, directors of departments and offices at the university, and a group of stakeholders and interested parties.
