The Faculty of Arts and Education in Sabratha hosted today, Wednesday, the event to commemorate the International Day of Persons with Disabilities - People of Determination, which was established by the United Nations in 1992 and is observed on December 3rd each year. 

The event began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by a series of speeches, starting with an opening address by Professor Ghazala Al-Hanashi, Director of the Office for the Education and Integration of Special Needs at the university. This was followed by a speech from Dr. Rajab Al-Tibani, the university's Vice President for Scientific Affairs, and then a speech from Dr. Al-Arif Al-Awzi, Director of the Department for the Education and Integration of Special Needs at the Ministry of Higher Education. Finally, a speech was delivered by Dr. Al-Mahdi Al-Dabashi, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Education in Sabratha.
The event included several segments related to this occasion, including performances by individuals with disabilities - People of Determination - who showcased their various skills and abilities amidst the encouragement and admiration of the audience. Additionally, there were scientific papers presented by specialists in the field of special education.
The commemoration of this day each year aims to highlight and support this segment of society, to stand by them, integrate them, address the problems and challenges they face, and provide them with all the necessary support and facilities to assist them in life, work, and study.
The event was attended by a number of professors, specialists, stakeholders, and a number of directors of departments and offices within the university administration.
