Sabratha University is one of Libya's largest public universities. It was established in 2015 in the city of Sabratha, Libya, with 18 campuses spread throughout cities on the west coast of the capital Tripoli. It consists of 19 colleges, some of which date back to 1992. Some of the colleges were affiliated to Zawya University until the issuance of the Council of Ministers Resolution No. 157 of 2015. To establish the University of Sabratha and to separate these colleges and determine their dependence on the University of Sabratha.
